windows admitted UV and visible light and served as modest insulation;
40 pounds of recycled metal converted the light to infrared energy (heat);
for storage the metal transferred its heat to the 20 gallon tank of water
in which it was floating; the tank of water was somewhat insulated with
4" of newspaper. |
