Project Solar Harvest Comes
to Island Earthfair 2006
Vashon Island, WA, July 26,
2006. Principals of solar energy collection for peak
as well as year-round retrieval will be demonstrated by LifeSense Institute
Earth Fair August 4th, 5th, and 6th. Project Solar Harvest
its first seed grant from Sustainable Vashon
and the Earthfair demonstration
is receiving local support. It will be the first exhibition on Vashon
of a particular approach to solar heating that has shown success at several
northern latitude installations, including Alberta, Canada; Japan; Scandinavia
and other northern European sites. They will also show a variety
of other optical solar technologies.
LifeSense anticipates sponsoring a
pilot community on Vashon featuring a “neighborhood grid” for residential
space and water heating. The neighborhood grid can also be used for
solar-heated greenhouses supporting sustainable aquatic and terrestrial
