CURRENT PROJECTS

NEW!
Vashon Ivy Program

Currently our Vashon Ivy Program is working on
organizing neighborhoods in a self-help program
that enourages the survival of healthy trees by
managing invasive ivy infestation.

NEW!
In connection with our ivy management
program on VMI, we have initiated an
innovative technology project with Erin Durrett
at Point Robinson Farm designed to demonstrate ivy disposal using hot composting methods
designed for low-cost thermal recovery to
heat water and interiors.

Stay tuned for photos and reports about our neighborhood-based ivy management
program and composting-for-heat projects.

2006
Vashon Energy Project:
demonstrates innovative solar heating
technologies that could be affordable and
suitable for Vashon-Maury Island and the
Pacific Northwest. Project Solar Harvest
was our initial installation to demonstrate
an annual solar heat storage system,

FUTURE PROJECTS

LifeSense Institute will provide environmental
education and sponsor environmentally sound projects that will improve the quality of life on Vashon.  Such projects will focus on affordable and sustainable contemporary building technologies that use "universal design."  These technologies will support the building of authentically green, nature-integrated homes for independent living on Vashon-Maury Island and beyond.
